SECTION-A

Q. No. 2. Pakistan’s economy is agro-based and agricultural resources are limited; integration of these resources is indispensable for enhancing growing profits as well as boosting national economy. What are the key issues in this regard? Suggest suitable options for adoption of integrated agriculture in Pakistan. (20)

Q. No. 3. In Pakistan, the livestock, fisheries, and cotton industries are facing serious issues. Critically analyze these issues and suggest remedial measures to overcome these issues, keeping in view the income of all stakeholders and governmental policies. (20)

Q. No. 4. Overall organic matter is low in our soils. Farmers apply inorganic fertilizers for the crops; however, inorganic fertilizer efficiency is low under our existing cropping systems and environmental conditions. Integrated plant nutrient management might be a good option? How inorganic fertilizers efficiency can be enhanced? Waste of bio-based industries might be an option as integrated plant nutrients? (20)

Q. No. 5. Being an edible oil deficit country, Pakistan has to spend a lot of foreign exchange for importing edible oil every year. Discuss causes of low oilseed productivity. Suggest an integrated strategy by integrating the stakeholders like farmers, agricultural scientists, industry, and the Government for improving the present situation by bridging the yield-gap and decreasing the import bill. (20)

Q. No. 6. Discuss the current situation and role of wildlife in Pakistan. Suggest strategies to improve forest-based wildlife. (20)

Q. No. 7. Fodder is an essential nutrition for livestock in Pakistan. But, its availability is not guaranteed in desired quantity throughout the year on sustained basis, even though Pakistan has many rangelands. Suggest measures to improve the rangelands on scientific principles for availability of fodder for livestock on sustained basis. (20)
