4 What do you understand by SOCIAL CHANGE? Describe the factors favourable to social change and those resisting it.
5 Differentiate between SOCIETY and COMMUNITY and discuss the characteristics of community in detail.
6 “Although the means used for social control are basically the same in all societies, the devices and techniques and the emphasis given on them, vary a good deal among different societies.” Discuss in detail the agencies of SOCIAL CONTROL and the methods and means employed both by primitive societies and advanced or civilized societies for controlling human behaviour.
7 “The roots of many contemporary social problems are to be found in the lag existing between technology and social institutions.” Discuss.
8 “Narcotics – drug addiction has widened into a world problem today. Nay, it is threatening to be wider and still wider engulfing every nook and corner of the world.” Give a critical review of drug – abuse control measures in Pakistan and chalk out a suitable and effective programme to curb this social problem.
