With the innovative findings of Sigmund Freud in the field of Psychology, particularly with reference to unconsciousness in 1905, the Western art and literature of the 20th century started to emphasize the individualism, emotional charge, percipience, psychological expression and the world of dreams. Cubism, expressionism and surrealism introduced modem art to the essentials of human mind and its hidden shades. Our artists have also absorbed their revolutionary trends along with the conventional styles. The artist has been enamoured by the realistic technique in painting. He tries to communicate his viewers, the psychological, emotional and perceptual aspects of human life through his artistry. This has created a unique combination of apparently realistic canvases with deep meanings underneath. While soil clouds against the blue sky, windows and door openings towards or inside the wonder lands imagined fantasy and the tangible objects used as metaphors denote the spiritual or metaphysical world.

اسلامی تاریخ میں حضرت خدیجۃؒ کی طرح کی خواتین کم ہی نظر آتی ہیں جنہوں نے خواتین کے لئے عمل کی راہیں آسان تر اور روشن تر بنائی ہیں۔ ان کی یہ عظمت تو قابل رشک ہے کہ وہ پہلے ایمان لانے والی انسان ہیں مگر ان کی یہ عظمت ہماری نظروں سے پوشیدہ رہتی ہے کہ انہوں نے خود اپنے لئے اس ذاتِ بابرکات کو تلاش کیا جسے دُرِ یتیم کہتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے عرب کی مالدار ترین خاتون ہوتے ہوۓ امیر ترین رؤساۓ عرب کے رشتے ٹُھکراۓ اور مہر و وفا اور قربانی کی لازوال داستان رقم کی ہے۔ انہوں نے خاندانِ نبوت کی آبیاری کرتے ہوۓ اپنا تن بھی جلایا اور اپنا دھن بھی قُربان کیا۔ آج یومِ خواتین پر حقوقِ نسواں اور عورت کی آزادی اور مساوات کا بڑا چرچا ہے مگر ہم اِ ن خواتین کا وہ معاشرتی کردار دُنیا کے سامنے نہیں لا پارہے اور نہ ہی اس پر عمل دارآمد کے لئے کوئ طریقہ کار وضع کر رہے ہیں۔
