PART-I
Q No 1 What do you know about the immigration of Aryans into the sub-continent and their political and religious life? They worshipped a number of terrestrial Gods, like Indra (Rain), Vayu, Varuna, Surya, Soma and Sura were their spirituous drink. Give English meaning and explain in detail. (30)

Q No 4 The most important ruler of the Kushana Dynasty was Kanishka. He conquered upper India but also extended the frontiers of his empire beyond the Pamir, Kashgar, Yarkand and Khotan. He is described as the King of Gandhara with his capital at Purushpura (modern Peshawar). He was a devout Buddhist. Give a comprehensive answer. (30)
