03 Traditionally , Rangelands are considered as “Barren Lands” or “Wastelands”. Explain the role of Rangelands in Rural Economy.
04 List Key Legal and Policy Instruments that focus on protection and conservation of forests and biodiversity resources in Pakistan. Briefly discuss weaknesses during implementation.
05 Explain why Pakistan is deficient in Tree cover? What are the main reasons of deforestation in Pakistan? What is the remedy?
06 (a) Define Erosion Strip. How and when erosion strips are laid out in Riverine Forests.
(b) Explain & highlight the technical terms used such as Chir Line, Initial Erosion Strip & Emergency Erosion Strip etc.
07 Explain the importance of Silvicultural Systems. Which Silvicultural systems are practiced in Temperate and Sub-Tropical Deciduous forests? Mention their merits and demerits.
08 Discuss fundamental principles of Wildlife Management. What is the importance of Wildlife Sanctuary, National Park, and Game reserve? Wildlife laws and policies are effective to curtail illegal hunting and poaching. Do you agree? If no then why?
