01 Draw and Label interior of the earth. What are the relationship among the Asthenosphere and the Lithosphere, the crus and the mantle and inner and outer core. Think about something you use everyday (e.g. your cell phone). What material is your cell phone made of? Where do these materials come from? How do we extract these materials from the earth? 20
02 What would the surface of earth be like if there were no tectonic activity? Draw sketch of major types of plate boundaries. Why do some rocks fold while others are faulted? In what parts of Pakistan would you find the most intensely folded rocks? Why? 20
03 You are a volcanologist working on a volcano that has been active in the past but currently quite. What methods would you use to monitor this volcano and what would those methods tell you about processes beneath the surface? Define Mud Volcanoes? Where are mud Volcanoes located in Pakistan. 20
04 Why is weathering important to life on earth. Why do stone buildings tend to weather more rapidly in cities than in Rural areas? How does mechanical weathering differ from chemical weathering? 10
05 Why do people fear from earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and landslide? If you were building house on a cliff, what would you look for to ensure that your house would not be destroyed through mass wasting? What role does water play in land sliding? 10

06 Describe the main ways in which a river erodes its channel and how steam transports and deposits sediment. What effect does a dam have on a river? 20
07 How does material deposited by Glaciers differ from material deposited by stream? Describe the glacial erosion processes of plucking and abrasion. What features indicate the processes have occurred in the past? What effect might human activity have on causing or preventing a glacial age? 20
08 Is it likely that oil resources of Badin Block of Lower Indus Basin will be completely depleted one day? Is coal a truly alternate to oil. Do Thar coal will provide us clean energy source? If yes then how? 20
09 Why is ozone at the surface considered harmful and ozone in the stratosphere considered beneficial? Think about your daily schedule. In what ways could you reduce your greenhouse gas emissions in your city? 10
10 Discuss the way in which Solar, wind, wave and tidal energy are convenient and beneficial for Sindh. 10
