Question No.1 The unbridled modernization and individualism have faded religiosity, collective morality, altruism and patriotism among Pakistanis (both leaders and the supporters). Write a comparative essay that highlights the reasons underlying this and suggest remedial measures. The essay should be in the light of Ibn-Khaldun’s, August Comte’s and Emile Durkheim’s intellectual works.

Question No.2 There is a growing concern at national and international levels about population explosion in Pakistan. Discuss this at length. The discussion should encompass Thomas Malthus’s relationship between population and food, positive and preventive check and Ant-Malthusian argument of demographic transition.

Question No.3 How have industrialization and urbanization altered family system in modern time? Describe 10 changes that you have noticed in family system in Pakistan.

Question No.4 Culture is a unique possession of man differentiating one society from other. Discuss the important characteristics and functions of culture. Do you think culture sometimes dominates the religious teachings? Please frame your arguments keeping in mind belief and practices in Pakistani society.

Question No.5. Cooperation and accommodation demand working together while competition generates social struggle in groups and society. Discuss the importance of these social processes in creating social harmony among different ethnic groups in Pakistani society and in promoting socio-economic development in the country.

Question .No.6. Discuss the importance of the questionnaire in survey research. Design a short questionnaire comprised 10-15 questions exploring the consequences of terrorism related activities on children schooling in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Also, identify the respondents and sampling technique(s).

Question No.7. A good hypothesis has certain characteristics. Discuss in detail. Design main and specific hypotheses indicating a relationship between illiteracy and poverty, law and order and foreign investment and social conflicts and development in rural areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Question No.8 The diffusion of innovation in society sometimes takes many years resulting in cultural lag that hampers development in society. Discuss how the involvement of Sociologist can be helpful for speedy diffusion/adoption of new technology in a traditional society.
