01 Who coined the term “Thucydides Trap”? What is this trap about? Explain it in detail from the prevalent international order and illustrate your answer with examples.

02 What is “Regime Change Policy”? Despite “Regime Change” it always bounces back and its repercussions are devastating. Why the United States is having a dangerous role in Venezuela Crisis?

03 (a) Why the United States did not experience balancing against it in the aftermath of the Soviet collapse? Critically comment in the light of Balance of Threat Theory.
(b) What is Pivot to Asia policy? Who architected this policy and against whom? Explain.

04 Differentiate between Foreign Polity and Diplomacy? Which factors determine the foreign policy of a State and what general tools/methods are deployed by a State to achieve its foreign policy objectives?

05 Explain the concept of deterrence in military strategy. What are different types of deterrence? How a State achieves credible deterrence in the age of asymmetric and non-conventional warfare?

06 Explain the importance of geographic position as the element of national power. How far it is true to associate CPEC with Pakistan‟s geographic location. What are the other elements of Pakistan‟s national power?

07 What are the prospects of forming a strategic alliance among Pakistan, Malaysia and Turkey to combat growing Islamophobia? Are there precedents in the past for such alliances in International Relations? Elaborate the scope and limitation of this idea in detail.

08 Write short notes on any Three of the following:
